בימים אלה מוצגת במרכז לאמנות עכשווית בערד התערוכה “נוף משותף“, פרויקט אמנות תלוי-מקום, בשיתוף קהילות ערד והסביבה. הפרויקט בוחן את היחסים בין שלושה מושגים, בהקשר המקומי של מרחב ערד: נוף, תרבות ושימור.

מפגש זה יתמקד ביחסים המוצעים במושג "נוף תרבות". המשורר הבדואי סעד אבו ענאם והחוקרת והפעילה בנגב תושבת ערד, בתיה רודד, יספרו על הנוף המקומי וייחודו התרבותי מנקודות מבט של הקהילות החולקות אותו. האמנים ואוצרת הפרויקט, שהחל באוקטובר 2019, יספרו אודותיו. בסיום המפגש נקיים שיחה פתוחה עם המשתתפים.

First conversation: Cultural Landscape

Moderated by Leah Abir, Artistic Director and Curatorial Advisor, Arad Contemporary Art Center

The exhibition “Common Views : Sourcing Water”, currently showing at the Arad Contemporary Art Center, is part of a site-specific art project, in participation with the communities of the Israeli desert town of Arad and its surroundings. The project explores the relationships between three concepts - landscape, culture, and conservation - in the local context of the region of Arad.

This first discussion in the series will focus on the relationships suggested by the term “Cultural Landscape”. Bedouin poet Saed Abu Anam, and Arad resident, researcher and Negev desert activist Batia Roded, will contribute insights regarding the local landscape, and its cultural uniqueness from the perspective of the communities sharing it. The artists and the project’s curator will present the project, which began in October 2019. We will conclude the discussion by opening it to the public for questions and contributions.
